- Made recommendations for New Venture block appraisals worldwide and wrote Field Development Plans, well proposals and logging programs for the development and exploration departments.
- Team leader for a Quality Improvement Initiative (QIT/CAT) for Log Quality Control procedures at the well site.
September 1989 to October 2000
Performed regular duties of a well site geologist for various offshore and onshore operators throughout the Far East. Conducted log analysis on exploration wells as part of contracted services, worked on various prospect generation assignments and detailed petrophysical studies of oil and gas fields in Indonesia.
Major Accomplishments
- Wellsite geologist and wireline log analyst for SOCO International in Eastern Mongolia.
- Served as well site geologist for Kodeco's carbonate buildup plays offshore Madura.
- Developed and conducted a one-month school on log analysis for Baker in Singapore.
- Served as lead well site geologist for Pedco (Korean Government) on a deep test offshore Korea for five months. Drafted the final well report at the specific request of Pedco.
- Conducted petrophysical studies on Tarakan and Barito Basins in Kalimantan for Scepter Oil and Trident.
- Supervised the acquisition of SAR data on Seram Island and Southwest Sulawesi for Kufpec and ARCO in 1991.
- Conducted the geological supervision of the 1992 drilling program for Petrocorp in South and Central Sumatra.
- Conducted a 4-month petrophysical study on the oil potential of Northeast Kalimantan (carbonate plays) for Petrocorp.
- Served as a well site geologist for Apache Oil in Central Sumatra from 1993 to 1995.
- Served as lead well site geologist for Pedco/Shell offshore Vietnam in 1993-1994.
- Conducted a 3-month petrophysical study on the Bentu Gas Project for Apache Oil and drafted the relinquishment report of the Padang Panjang P.S.C. in 1995.
- Served as well site geologist for SAGA Petroleum in Jambi, South Sumatra in 1996 and recommended production tests for SAGA management.
- Conducted a 2-month petrophysical study on the Pulau Gading Gas Project for SAGA International in 1996.
- Served as senior well site geologist for ARCO in South Sulawesi and Irian Jaya from 1995 to 1997 (continuously cored the Paleocene and Pre-Tertiary reservoirs in the Wiriagar Deep 6 and 7 development wells, and evaluated the zones of interest with MDT, FMI AND CMR logs).
- Served as well site geologist, offshore Tarakan (deepwater projects), for Sceptre in 1990 (Teratai-1, Vanda-1), and for Shell in 1997 (West Vanda-1).
- Served as senior operations geologist for Santa Fe Energy in South Sumatra, Jabung from September, 1997 until March, 1998 (delineation wells NE Betara Gas Field).
- Performed log analyses for Snyder Oil (SOCO) in Mongolia from 1996, and served as well site geologist in Mongolia from March until September, 1998.
- Conducted a 5-month petrophysical study for Premier Oil Natuna (Anoa Oil and Gas Field, South China Sea) from March until July, 1999.
- Served as well site geologist for Canadian Petroleum Ltd. in Bengkulu, South Sumatra until March, 2000.
