Work Performed Prior To Acting As A Consultant
1989 to 1992
Atlantic Richfield Indonesia Inc., senior drilling supervisor. Supervised drilling and workover operations on Jack Up Rigs, Tenders and Swamp Barges in the Java Sea and inland waters in the north of Java. Rigs worked on include Dual Drilling Company's Rigs 42 and 90, Santa Fe Rig 134, Patra Rig Baruna II, Sedneth Raisis and the workover rigs Semar, Sedneth Luanda and Nordic Explorer. Supervised semi-submersible operations north of Bali on the Santa Fe Aleutian Key. Supervised well site preparation and dredging operations on Sepanjang Island, north of Bali. One of the primary considerations during the dredging operations was to make as little impact as possible on the fragile paludal environment of the area.
1980 to 1989
Worked on various international projects in the ROTA Department of ARCO International Oil and Gas Co. as a senior drilling supervisor and drilling engineer; with a 28 days on / 28 days off schedule. A breakdown of this 10-year period appears below:
- 1980 - Supervised Land Rigs in the eastern desert of Somalia, East Africa. As a part of this project, supervised the construction of 280 km. of road across sandy desert and an airstrip at the location. Supervised post-drilling clean up of the location to leave the area as close to its original condition as possible.
- 1981 - Jack Ups, Tenders and Semis in the Java Sea, Indonesia - - rigs worked on include Reading and Bates JW McLean, Bali Green Dolphin, Brinkerhoff Rigs I and II, and Santa Fe Rigs 125 and Explorer.
- 1982 to 1986 - Jack Ups and Semis in the North Sea, UK - - rigs worked on were the Sindbad Saxon, Penrod Rigs 85 and 92 and Santa Fe Rig 135. Three months was also spent performing shipyard duty in Okpo, Korea during the construction of the Santa Fe 135.
- 1986 to 1987 - Supervised Land Rigs in eastern Turkey near the city of Diyarbakir. Also supervised the preparation of three drilling sites and the construction of approximately 40 km of road across stony desert terrain. Supervised post-drilling clean up operations to ensure as little environmental impact as possible.
- 1987 to 1988 - Jack Ups and Semis in the North Sea, UK. Rigs worked on include the Arch Rowan, Ocean Odyssey and Henry Goodrich. Performed the job of land based Area Drilling Superintendent for the jack up rig Ocean Ben Armin operating out of Great Yarmouth, England.
- 1988 to 1989 - Returned to Indonesia and performed the duties of senior drilling supervisor on the Dual 42, a Jack Up, the Baruna II, a Semi-Submersible, and the Raisis, a Swamp Barge.
1974 to 1980
ARCO International Oil and Gas Co. Operations geologist for the North Sea Area. Duties primarily involved liaison between the Exploration and Drilling Departments to enhance drilling efficiency. The period from 1975 to 1977 was spent as a staff geologist in Egypt; three monts of 1978 was spent as a staff geologist in Greenland.
1973 to 1974
Self employed. Drilling consultant, worked onshore and offshore in the UK and North Africa.
1958 to 1973
Core Laboratories Inc., wellsite duties, management and sales on various onshore and offshore locations in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chili, Colombia, Egypt, Holland, Libya, Mauritania, Paraguay, The Philippine Republic, UK, USA and Venezuela.
